Curbside Dresser Rescue

If you were driving your kids to school and saw this on the side of the road, would you pick it up?
Me?
I couldn't stop the van fast enough to pick it up.

This dresser has a funny story that you can read about on my blog : http://www.mycreativedays.com/curbside-dresser-turned-entertainment-center/ (Hint* I didn't know it was missing drawers until I got it home.)

It was too good of a piece to give up on so I had to get creative and think of a way to make it beautiful and functional. We got the remaining drawers to work in the bottom portion of the dresser. That left me with the top row of empty drawers.
I decided that should just be open shelving.
To make them their own "cubby", we added wood to the bottom and sides of each open section.

We put trim on the front of each open shelf to give it more of a "finished" look.

I painted it all in "Bedford" from Fusion Mineral Paint so it looked like one, cohesive piece. You can't even tell there were drawers there now.

This piece could still be used as a dresser, but it is a perfect piece to house all your entertainment center needs as well.

You can see the detailed pictures and instructions of what we did on my post.
Happy curbside shopping!
