I found this chair at my local swap meet, it had a beautiful shape but dated 1980's upholstery...I began by covering the chair in a mix of DIY Paint, diluted with water.
The paint I used had no acrylic or latex, it's a clay based paint that will sink into the fibers of the fabric and work like a dye.
It covered in a single coat, the print is gone now :)
I used Sandy Blonde, use a shade that is close to the color of glitter you plan to use.
Next mix up your glitter with your decoupage medium, Mod Podge or DIY Clear Patina will work great for this.
Choose a very fine grit glitter and mix it into your decoupage medium, approx 50/50 ratio. Make sure it's mixed well, no clumps or pockets of dry glitter.
Check out my quick and fun video, it will walk you through the process step by step.
You will need about three coats of the glitter/ patina mixture
The final step is to add a top coat of patina without any glitter mixed in.

I'm happy with the way this turned out, my first attempt was not so great, I tried painting the chair with glue and throwing glitter at it.. huge mess, clumpy patchy look and glitter every where!
This is me showing you the "bend-ability" and how the glitter stays on! If you liked this project, I would love it if you checked out my blog for a lot more fun projects! I upload new videos to my youtube channel weekly :)
