Here is a BEFORE pic. Not bad. We painted and glazed our 80's Oak cabinets about 3 years ago. We replaced our off white laminate countertops with a granite look alike laminate about 10 years ago. We also purchased black appliances about 10 years ago. All inexpensive fixes. We looked at a lot of pictures on line to decide what we liked. We always leaned toward light and bright. We used SW Devine White for the cabinet color, Red mahogany for the stain on the peninsula for contrast. We added pendant lighting over what will be our penisula and removed the popcorn ceiling. What a mess!We decided to use our existing cabinet bases making a few modifications. We refaced the bases and had new doors and drawers made. We took out some cabinet doors and made drawers and added a pull out trash can in the cabinet to the left of the sink. This is a pic before the new appliances, peninsula, granite and backsplash. Here is one side of the new kitchen! It doesn't feel like a galley kitchen anymore. Love the marble subway backsplash too.We put in all new stainless and added a few glass cabinets above refrigerator and microwave. Refacing is great! The contractor's made and painted everything in the shop and then installed it. Less mess and time in the house.Original article and pictures take http://www.hometalk.com/12137085/finally-remodeled-kitchen-the-way-we-wanted site
