I really love this desk, but I don't like white pine. I needed a new desk for my computer station. I started by sanding the whole thing. After sanding, I painted the whole thing with a turquoise chalk paint. It was indeed bright. Sorry didn't take pictures of that step.
More before pictures.
I numbered the drawers, so I'll know where they belong when I put them back.
After the turquoise chalk paint, I put clear Chalk paint wax on the entire piece. Waited 24 hours then, buffed it to a shine. Then I painted entire piece with brown wax, section by section with a cotton lint free cloth.
Waited 24 hours and then buffed the entire piece. As you can see, I didn't paint the wood sections where cards, letters and books can be put.
Voila! I love it, now I have so much room for storage underneath. It took me 3 days to do all this due to the drying wait time.
I actually had it in the garage under a big fan for 3 days to speed up the drying time. Thank you for looking. Now my next project will be a vanity desk. Pictures to come.
